On October 14, I drove up '鳥海ブルーライン' , 'The Chokai Blue Line', which is a driving route to the half point of Mt. Chokai, 2236 meters high. There I took some pictures and wrote some haiku.
Autumn trees
making themselves up--
Mt. Chokai
秋の木木粧ひ始む鳥海山
aki no kigi yosooi hajimu Chokaisan
Autumn lakes
making room --
migrating birds
秋の湖渡る鳥あり憩ふ間に

返信削除Oh Beautiful photo, Hiruta San :)
返信削除and the haikus are so different from the usual -- it really reflects the beauty of autumn as perceived....i myself usually associate it with sadness and separation...though the colourful trees are a beauty to behold :)
and the lake haiku -- we are having birds coming in too and i like the way you present it...so much :)
best regards,
devika
Thank you very much for a nice comment, Devika San!
返信削除In the first haiku I wanted to express the last makeups of the autumn leaves which had to leave their tree for another world.
And we often hear that candles flare most brilliantly at the last moment.
I tried to find something beautiful in sadness and separation.
best wishes.

Yes Hiruta San....i haven't seen many saying it so subtly...the beauty lies there :)

返信削除Now I have a new place in my haiku-geography; Mt Chokai!
I began yesterday with this haiku. Slept not so peaceful night. An now I wonder whether it's ready, but this one is the latest version:
it's first landing --
a yellow leaf
on an autumn lake
Tikkis san, your tender heart made the yellow leaf land on the autumn lake, I'm sure.
返信削除Thank you very much for your beautiful haiku.
