氷解く鯉の目覚めの動きかな
koori toku  koi no mezame no  ugoki kana

ice melted
carp awakened
to move



残雪や木々の伸びる日近くなり
zansetsu ya  kigi no nobiru hi  chikaku nari

the last snow
the day nears for trees
to stretch themselves

先駆けて春を告げるや福寿草
sakigake te  haru o tsugeru ya  fukujuso

the herald of spring
appearing
Far East Amur adonis



別名は雪の花なり福寿草
betsumei wa  yuki no hana nari  fukujuso

  According to the Korean Movie & Drama Database HANCINEMA Far East Amur adonis  is written as 福寿草 (fukujuso) in Chinese characters, which means the plant of luck and longevity.

a blue bird in

the yonder heavens





雪解けに北の公園目覚めけり

yukidoke ni kita no koen mezame keri



the thaw

awakens the ground ―

春の岸白鳥の群れ舞ひ降りる

haru no kishi hakucho no mure maioriru



a flight of swans

have a break there ―

the spring bank





白鳥の帰る日近し雄物川

hakucho no kaeru hi chikashi Omonogawa

for swans to leave ―
